DartyBox

The Dartybox mail service is closed since 12/12/2016.

DartyBox is an Internet Service Provider launched in 2006 by Darty. It is a subsidiary of the Darty Group, itself owned by a British company KESA. To date, DartyBox no longer exists. Acquired on May 3, 2012 by the Bouygues group, DartyBox has been integrated into the offers proposed by the French telephony giant. However, the achievements of the former owners of DartyBox are retained. Customers keep their email addresses and email services.

How has the DartyBox evolved?

The DartyBox was born in 2006 following the launch of a box launched by Darty offering an internet offer. Wanting to compete with the giants of internet providers, Darty offers different formulas and internet packages. The results are very disappointing. Eventually, this branch did not seem viable, and the turnover quickly confirmed it. But Darty decides to continue the exploitation of DartyBox and even proposes a version 2.

The offer is then much more complete than the first version and offers its customers a box with 4 Ethernet outputs (to connect your computers, your TV and any other device where you would like to have internet), a USB port and a WIFI function. Equipped with a hard drive with a capacity of 160 GB, it is very interesting.
The future of the DartyBox

Freshly sold to Bouygues, DartyBox is doomed to disappear. According to agreements between Bouygues and Darty, current users of the DartyBox will continue to use it without problem. However, the marketing of DartyBox will probably be stopped completely in a few months. However, services remain assured and customers wishing to cancel their subscriptions can contact Bouygues or Darty for details.

Darty, through its subsidiary DartyBox, sold its customers on two active panels: 300,000 customers on the Internet offer and 40,000 active customers on mobile phone offers. Users are not forced to change their phone like the DartyBox. However, the evolution of packages is no longer possible. So if you want to change your internet or phone offer, you will have to switch to Bouygues equipment.
